The Büyük Menderes River (historically the Maeander also spelled "Meander"); Turkish: Büyük Menderes Nehri, Greek: Μαίανδρος) is a river in southwestern Turkey. It rises in west central Turkey, near Dinar (), flowing west for some 250 km, joining the Aegean Sea near the ancient Ionian city of Miletus (). Its ancient name "Maeander", along with its winding back and forth course, gave rise to English word "meander".
